Cognitive Performance Specialist (CPS)

Strategic Resources, Inc. (SRI) is an international, ISO 9001/20000/27001 Certified, CMMI Level 3 Rated full-service provider with more than 38 years’ experience in the Federal, military, and commercial marketplaces with a business line dedicated to providing Healthcare and Human Performance support services.

Overview: SRI is seeking Cognitive Performance Specialists to support Army National Guard H2F Performance Teams. The CPS will develop and deliver programs that enhance cognitive readiness, mental skills, resilience, focus, adaptability, confidence, self-regulation, and performance under pressure. The position will provide classroom and field-based training, mentor H2F Integrators and Master Resilience Trainers, and integrate cognitive-performance principles into Army training and readiness activities.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive mental-readiness programs based on performance psychology principles.
  • Develop practical mental-skills resources including tip sheets, guided exercises, and leader discussion guides.
  • Train Soldiers in evidence-based cognitive-performance skills.
  • Provide instruction in attention control, goal setting, energy management, stress-response techniques, deliberate breathing, mindfulness, visualization, and effective self-talk.
  • Conduct classroom instruction and field-based coaching.
  • Integrate cognitive skills into military activities such as marksmanship, field exercises, and leadership reaction courses.
  • Mentor Master Resilience Trainers and H2F Integrators.
  • Provide reach-back support, advanced skills training, and subject-matter expertise.
  • Develop and contribute to H2F onboarding curricula, implementation strategies, reports, resource libraries, and mentorship packages.
  • Participate in HPT meetings, planning sessions, and working groups.
  • Travel to supported Army National Guard locations and training events as required.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Kinesiology with a specialized focus in sport or performance psychology from an accredited university.
  • Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) certification from the Association for Applied Sport Psychology is highly desired.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant post-graduate experience providing mental-skills training and cognitive-performance enhancement services to athletes, military personnel, or other high-performing groups.
  • Must maintain all required credentials, licenses, and certifications.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible schedules based on Army National Guard training requirements.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within CONUS as required.

Security Clearance Requirements:

Must meet applicable Tier 1 investigation requirements. Certain positions/locations may require Interim Secret or Secret eligibility as designated by the Government.
