Structures Dept. General Maintenance Worker, Ft Knox, Kentucky

PCSI is looking for a General Maintenance Worker for the Structures Department at our Total Facility Maintenance Fort Knox, Kentucky contract.

This position will report to the Structures supervisor and is based out of Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

• Perform minor adjustments and repairs to plumbing, electrical, waste systems, architectural and structural building components, doors, windows, floor systems, light carpentry, and roof systems.
• Clean and maintain mechanical rooms.
• Conduct preventative maintenance functions and minor repairs, including changing filters, cleaning cooling towers, heating and cooling coils, and changing fluorescent and other light bulbs.
• Manufacture, repair and install screens, glass, and other components; complete all required paperwork.
• Switch electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors as needed.
• Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or compound.
• Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, toilets, concrete floors, steps, sidewalks, and damaged paneling or tiles.
• Hanging doors and installing door locks; replace broken windowpanes.
• Perform snow and ice removal operations.
• Make roof repairs—diagnose leaks, tarp roofs, replace downspouts and perform detailed leak documentation.
• Install and replace ceiling tiles, drywall ceilings, and various ceiling types with insulation and soundproofing.
• Paint walls, doors, window casings, ceilings, concrete floors, brick, and other surfaces.
• Install and replace windows, blinds, and glass. Adjust hinges, closers, seals, weatherstripping, and latch systems.
• Adjust doors, install or replace thresholds and recessed mats, correct alignment, and perform finishing work.
• Replace or install flooring including carpet, tile, vinyl, and laminate; grind coats and install anti‑slip devices.
• Demo and frame new construction with wood or metal studs; install insulation and hat channels.
• Execute minor masonry repairs—tuck‑pointing, caulking, drilling, and block/brick replacement.
• Install new drywall and complete finishing work including bead and joint treatment.
• Install furnishings, cabinets, countertops, vanities, back splashes, and mounting hardware.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months of experience performing similar maintenance tasks.
• Must be able to stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, squat, bend, and reach frequently.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs up to 10 times per day.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools for installation, maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
• Must be able to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
• Must be able to work outside in inclement weather and on weekends/holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access if required.
