** moss' solar staff accountant i is responsible for performing general ledger reconciliations for moss and other related companies, while maintaining and entering corporate-level journal entries. The staff accountant i collaborate across teams to ensure financial integrity and supports financial reporting efforts in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
** essential job duties and responsibilities
*** perform general ledger reconciliations for certain accounts/companies
* enter and updates corporate related journal entries
* maintain and update fixed asset records
* update monthly reconciliations
* prepare interim financial statements for related companies
* assist with year-end external audit and tax returns
* respond to inquiries, assist with research as needed, participate in special projects and provide ad-hoc financial analysis
* assist in the preparation of division and project budgets, including monitoring variances between budgeted and actual expenditures
* conduct monthly closing activities by ensuring all journal entries are posted on time and aligned with the company’s financial close calendar
* assist in the management of deposits, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts receivables, accruals, and reserves to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
* assist in the preparation of financial statements
* assisting with monthly review and reclassification of overhead accounts
* perform other duties as assigned
** education and work experience
*** bachelor’s degree in accounting required
* 1-3 years of work experience in financial accounting department
* proficient in microsoft excel
* strong analytical skills and the ability to problem-solve
* ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
* works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
* high degree of attention to detail and ability to multi-task
* construction industry experience is a plus, but not required
