We are seeking an Assistant Staff Accountant for a full-time, direct hire opportunity with a growing organization in the construction and renewable energy industry. This role is based 100% onsite in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and offers the chance to build hands‑on experience with fixed assets, job costing, reconciliations, general ledger support, and month‑end close activities.

Key Responsibilities- Assist with fixed asset and equipment accounting, including asset records, documentation, and supporting schedules.
- Review invoices for accurate coding, cost allocation, and project‑related expense tracking.
- Prepare account reconciliations and support month‑end close activities.
- Assist with journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and accounting documentation.
- Support job cost accounting and coordinate with internal teams regarding equipment, fleet, and asset records.
- Maintain organized audit support files and help ensure accounting records are accurate and complete.
- Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 per year.
- Full‑time, direct hire position.

- Support fixed asset accounting, equipment records, and depreciation‑related schedules.
- Assist with job cost accounting, project expense tracking, and invoice coding.
- Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and month‑end close support.
- Maintain general ledger documentation and accounting support files.
- 3 to 5 years of accounting, bookkeeping, general ledger, or job cost accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, invoice review, and cost allocations.
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, equipment‑intensive, renewable energy, or similar industries is highly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and data analysis.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with accounting, operations, equipment, and internal department teams.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with Sage 300 CRE, Procore, SharePoint, or similar accounting systems.
- Exposure to fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, equipment accounting, or fleet‑related accounting.
- Previous experience supporting month‑end close in a construction, project accounting, or job cost environment.
