Description:

This is a paraprofessional position assigned to the Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency. The incumbent provides a high level of administrative support to management personnel and is responsible for a wide range of duties to help maintain the smooth flow of day-to-day operations. The incumbent in this role is required to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Location:

The position is available in the Southeast Region (Fort Lauderdale). Positions will be housed within the Region based on the physical location of selected candidates. Applicants interested in working in areas outside of the Southeast Region will need to apply for positions advertised for those specific areas on the People First System.

Annual Salary:

$34,760 annually. Salary does not include an additional bi-weekly competitive area differential of $48.80. Internal salary appointments are determined according to DCF Salary policy.

Typical Duties:
  • Manage incoming and outgoing telephonic, electronic communication and written correspondence.
  • Manage a busy calendar.
  • Operate office equipment with proficiency and use a variety of accounting, word-processing, graphic presentation, and database software applications.
  • Manage ordering of supplies.
  • Compose and distribute a variety of correspondence.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Perform special assignments, prepare reports and related duties.
Minimum Requirements:
  • ABachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year of administrative experience.
  • A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience.
  • Administrative or clerical experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
