Behavior Technician - Neighborhood Foster Home

KIDS is looking for a staff person to work in our enhanced neighborhood foster home located in Boca Raton caring for children ages 12-17. The position will help support our house parents by helping meet physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the children being served.

KIDS is looking for a staff person to work in our enhanced neighborhood foster home located in Boca Raton caring for children ages 12-17. The position will help support our house parents by helping meet physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the children being served.

The position hours are 12:00 p.m.

- 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional weekend coverage.

Duties:

• Progressively interact with children in our home by engaging in verbal conversations, playing games, drawing, assisting with homework, assisting/holding accountable for chores, etc.
• Provide one-to-one supervision and intervention during therapeutic activities
• Provide skills training in accordance with the treatment plan for restoration of basic living and social skills
• Provide assistance to the family, caregivers, and others involved in implementing the treatment plan
• Provide support in implementing TBRI principles
• Provide therapeutic behavioral support services on-site in primarily one-to-one interactions
• Assist parents with implementing schedules for school, school assignments, after school activities, medical, or other appointments
• Care and maintenance of the physical premises – cleaning, laundry, cooking, and other duties as assigned by house parent
• Complete training on various topics such as abuse reporting, direct child care, child care activities, policy & procedure, trauma, and all other mandatory staff meetings and/or trainings
• Professionally respond to emergencies and notify appropriate personnel immediately
• Document children behaviors and progress notes in database
• Advocate for the best interests of the child within the context and boundaries of 4
  
  KIDS policy and procedures
• Communicate effectively with other members of the staff and house parents
• Collaborate with staff to create a safe, structured, and Christ-centered enviornment
• Provide a listening ear while maintaining professional and ethical boundaries
• Administer medications as needed

  KIDS statement of faith
• Must be 23 years of age or older with valid drivers license in order to drive children in company provided vans
• Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) preferred
• Associates Degree preferred in related field
• Minimum two years experience working with children ages 12-17
• Knowledge of trauma informed care
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Expert in children supervision
• Must have reliable transportation that can be used for work purposes
• Must successfully complete initial drug screening and initial and annual background screenings
