Program Director: General Surgery

Description Now interviewing for a general surgery residency program director to lead the development and implementation of a new general surgery residency program. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to be involved in a groundbreaking program within a large and recognized healthcare system.

The candidate must be clinically active with current board certification in general surgery
. They should have documented educational and administrative experience acceptable to the ACGME General Surgery Residency Review Committee. The ability to obtain a Florida medical license and a medical staff appointment is required.

Previous experience as a core faculty member, Associate Program Director, or Program Director in an ACGME-accredited general surgery program is required. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills and be board-certified general surgeons or ABMS-certified subspecialists
.

This role is ideal for a clinician passionate about medical education, teaching, and mentoring
. Responsibilities include authority over and accountability for the overall operation of the residency program, ensuring high-quality didactic and clinical education, and maintaining an environment conducive to resident learning across all ACGME competency areas.
