The Spanish Immersion Substitute will work in the capacity for which they are hired. As a substitute teacher, the individual will teach, train, lead, guide, and follow the lesson plans to properly educate the grade level(s) in their care. These tasks may include clerical tasks, supervision tasks, and class coverage as needed. As a substitute, the individual must take ownership of the assigned role so that students are always well supervised and taught per the provided plans.

In the Spanish Immersion program, the classroom environment becomes the setting for language acquisition through subject content instruction and social interaction in the language of Spanish.

The position is multifaceted in that the individual takes on the tasks of another staff member who is absent. As a substitute, this person is in constant contact with children, school staff, parents, and church staff.

• Providing a safe environment for kids
• Assisting teachers with required tasks, duties, and class coverage
• Teach Spanish as a second language and the important aspects of Spanish culture
• Serve as interpreter/document translator for teachers/administration who need to communicate with parents who are Spanish speakers
• Must be proficient and fluent in both English and Spanish languages

• Bachelor's Degree
• Written and oral fluency in Spanish and English (able to pass a proficiency test)
• Ability to lead and communicate with children
• Ability to multi-task and become easily oriented
• Positive disciplinary approach to supervising groups of children
• Ability to be flexible and open to last-minute needs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
• A servant’s heart for Christ and His children
• All teachers are responsible for erasing their white boards at the end of each teaching day
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs
