Project Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of engineering projects from initial concept through to completion. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative technical team, contributing to projects that require strong organisation, sound engineering judgement and a commitment to quality.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor engineering projects in line with agreed scope, budget, programme and quality standards.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, calculations, reports and project documentation.
  • Work closely with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to resolve technical and delivery issues.
  • Track project progress, identify risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Support procurement activities, supplier evaluation, tender reviews and the management of technical queries.
  • Attend design reviews, progress meetings, site visits and commissioning activities where required.
  • Ensure that engineering work complies with relevant legislation, industry standards, health and safety requirements and internal procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lessons-learned reviews and the development of standard processes.
About you

You will be an organised and proactive engineer with experience of managing or supporting multidisciplinary projects. You should be confident interpreting technical information, communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and making informed decisions in a changing environment.

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Relevant experience in a project engineering, design engineering or technical delivery role.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, risk assessment and quality assurance.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Competence with standard engineering and project management software.
  • Willingness to travel to project or supplier sites when necessary.

In return, you will receive professional development opportunities, a supportive working environment and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to technically challenging projects. Applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate transferable engineering and project coordination experience.
