Role Description

We are seeking a full-time remote Senior Accountant with specialized experience in the cruise industry to join our team. This role requires a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, the ability to think tenaciously, and problem-solve independently. The successful candidate will be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), equipped with strategic insights into accounting practices specific to cruise operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all accounting transactions and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Prepare budget forecasts and financial statements with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure timely bank payments and audit financial transactions and documents.
  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
  • Comply with financial policies and regulations.
  • Liaise with the Financial Director to improve financial systems and processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance with standards such as GAAP or IFRS.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and preparing accurate financial statements.
  • Experience with accounting software and tools, such as Quick Books, Net Suite, or similar systems.
  • Analytical and organizational skills for managing budgets and reconciling accounts.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, with excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • CPA or relevant certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Prior experience in travel/hospitality industry to support business goals with strategic insights into accounting practices specific to cruise operations.
