Responsibilities- Work with adolescents (ages 5‑17) to help them overcome psychological/emotional issues and substance abuse problems.
- Complete psychosocial assessments and formulate individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct family sessions to improve outcomes for patients and their families post‑discharge.
- Recognize crisis situations and provide interventions.
- Collaborate with peers, administrators, physicians, and allied staff.
- Master’s Degree from an accredited school in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling; license preferred.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent experience.
- One year of experience working in a hospital or psychiatric counseling setting with adults and/or adolescents.
- Must be a Registered Intern with the State of Florida and provide a supervisory agreement.
- LCSW, LMHC, or CAP – preferred.
- CPR certification.
- Strong therapeutic skills and knowledge of group and individual treatment philosophies.
- Working knowledge of developmental stages.
- Minimal knowledge of community resources.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of varied comprehension levels.
- Strong assessment skills and ability to intervene in various situations.
- Sensitivity and awareness of diverse cultures and practices.
