Summary:
The Clinical Systems Analyst Associate – Interface Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the integration of clinical and administrative systems across the healthcare enterprise. This position focuses on the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of interfaces using Epic Bridges
, Corepoint Integration Engine
, and HL7 standards to ensure seamless data exchange between internal systems and external partners.
- Interface Development & Maintenance
- Build, test, deploy, and maintain HL7 interfaces using Epic Bridges and Corepoint.
- Translate business and clinical requirements into interface specifications and technical solutions.
- Ensure interfaces are compliant with HL7 v2.x, FHIR, and other interoperability standards.
- System Integration & Support
- Collaborate with application analysts, clinical teams, and external vendors to support integration projects.
- Monitor interface performance and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Participate in on-call rotation for interface support and incident response.
- Data Quality & Validation
- Conduct data mapping, transformation, and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies and interface-related errors.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed documentation of interface configurations, workflows, and change logs.
- Ensure all integration activities comply with HIPAA, HITECH, and internal security policies.
- Project Participation
- Assist in planning and executing interface-related components of EHR upgrades, system migrations, and new implementations.
- Contribute to cross-functional project teams and provide subject matter expertise on interface capabilities.
- Associate’s degree in health informatics
, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field—or equivalent experience. - 1–3 years of experience in healthcare IT, with exposure to interface development and support.
- Working knowledge of HL7 messaging (ADT, ORU, ORM, etc.) and interface engines (preferably Corepoint).
- Familiarity with Epic Bridges and EHR integration workflows.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Epic Bridges certification or training. If candidate is not Epic Bridges certified, candidate must complete certification process within 90 days of hire.
- Experience with FHIR, X12, or other healthcare data exchange protocols.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or SQL).
- Experience in a public or safety-net healthcare environment.
