ROLE IS ONSITE
Position OverviewWe are seeking a SQL Developer & Database Administrator to design, build, and maintain the company’s in-house SQL database environment. This role is primarily focused on SQL development and data engineering, with a portion dedicated to database administration. The ideal candidate will translate business needs into scalable, well-governed database solutions and work closely with cross‑functional teams to support reporting, analytics, and operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Build, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and data structures to support business operations and reporting.
- Lead the development of internal SQL database systems, including schema design, data modeling, and foundational processes.
- Perform database administration tasks, including monitoring performance, managing access, maintaining backups, and ensuring data integrity.
- Develop and manage ETL processes and data integrations across multiple systems.
- Analyze and improve database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Partner with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into reliable, compliant technical solutions.
- Plan and manage technical projects, tracking progress and ensuring successful delivery.
- Establish documentation, standards, and best practices for database development, version control, and ongoing maintenance.
- Ensure all database solutions comply with internal security policies, data governance standards, and relevant regulations.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for SQL and data initiatives, providing guidance and mentorship as systems mature.
- Adapt to changing priorities and technologies while maintaining database reliability and accuracy.
- 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience as a SQL Developer, Database Developer, or similar role.
- Strong communication skills for working with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience in financial services or regulated industries is a plus.
- Advanced SQL development, database design, and performance tuning.
- Experience with MySQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server; exposure to Snowflake preferred.
- Designing and supporting ETL workflows and data integration across diverse systems.
- Familiarity with Git and version‑controlled development workflows.
- Office‑based role with occasional travel.
- Extended periods at a computer; ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Regular use of phone and email.
