The Lead Cybersecurity Engineer provides advanced technical leadership for the secure design and delivery of maritime OT cybersecurity capabilities across capital projects and fleet operations. The role requires the ability to independently lead architecture decisions, evaluate technical trade-offs, define implementation standards, and guide multidisciplinary teams through design, testing, commissioning, and lifecycle support.

Technical Leadership and Architecture
  • Deep expertise designing secure OT or infrastructure architectures, including segmentation, security zones and conduits, resilient connectivity, secure remote access, endpoint security, identity integration, logging, monitoring, backup, and recovery.
  • Ability to produce and review high- and low-level designs, network diagrams, data flows, configuration standards, technical specifications, test plans, and as-built documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical design reviews and resolving complex system integration issues.
Operational Technology Expertise
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems and OT network design principles. Maritime experience with bridge, propulsion, machinery management, power control, access control, cargo, communications, or satellite systems is preferred.
  • Experience engineering or integrating OT security tools such as passive network monitoring, endpoint protection, asset discovery, vulnerability management, backup/recovery, secure remote access, and removable media controls.
  • Hands-on experience with servers, laptops and desktops, Windows and Linux operating systems, Active Directory and Group Policy, virtualization, storage, backup platforms, and enterprise endpoint technologies.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including Ethernet, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, network access control, DNS, DHCP, and common infrastructure protocols.
  • IT-only experience should include substantial hands-on infrastructure engineering; otherwise, directly relevant OT experience is preferred.
Cybersecurity Engineering and Assurance
  • Advanced capability in threat modeling, architecture risk assessment, vulnerability management, technical control validation, secure configuration, and incident troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting FAT, SAT, commissioning, operational readiness, and post-deployment lifecycle activities.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Ability to lead technical discussions with engineering, IT, shipbuilding, vessel, vendor, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation, presentation, and mentoring skills; able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
For all roles:

Knowledge:
Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.

Skills:

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Abilities:
Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance / Capacity to be punctual and meet deadlines / Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team / Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions and tasks.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, or another relevant STEM field is required.

Experience: Minimum 8+ years working in cybersecurity, OT, IT infrastructure, systems engineering, network engineering, or a closely related technical environment, including experience leading complex technical designs or implementations.

Certifications: One or more relevant certifications are preferred, such as CISSP, GICSP, GRID, GCIP, GDSA, GSLC, CISM, CCNP, or equivalent technology-specific credentials.

Technical foundation: Strong knowledge of OT or IT infrastructure architecture, Windows and Linux operating systems, networking, endpoint technologies, cybersecurity engineering practices, and secure system integration
