Litigation/Bankruptcy Docketing Specialist
Position Type:
Docketing Specialist (Litigation/Bankruptcy focus)
Experience
Required:
Prior docketing experience in litigation and bankruptcy
- Calculate and calendar critical deadlines using court rules-based docketing software
- Review legal documents to identify and enter relevant dates into the docketing system
- Conduct research on court cases, dockets, judges, and litigants using PACER, Westlaw, Court Drive, and other databases
- Respond promptly to inquiries regarding deadlines, pleadings, procedures, and court rules
- Generate and distribute docket reports, ensuring accuracy and quality control
- Maintain strong familiarity with State and Federal Court Rules
- Handle ad hoc docketing, calendaring, and research tasks as needed
- Participate in weekly team meetings to align on priorities and deadlines
- Minimum 2 years of docketing experience in litigation or bankruptcy using rules-based software (Compulaw preferred)
- Experience with Federal and State court systems across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong understanding of court procedures and electronic filing practices
- Familiarity with the lifecycle of bankruptcy and litigation cases, including appeals
- Proficiency in legal terminology and document types
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks under pressure
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
