Summary

The Lead Material Specialist will assist the Manager of Materials in the day‑to‑day operations of the department. Responsibilities include scheduling, computing time cards, training, maintaining inventory levels, and collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure an adequate supply of materials for the aircraft. The role requires fiscal responsibility, time management, and knowledge of shipping and receiving processes. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Forklift operator
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working in an airline stores environment
  • Authorized to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986
  • Must pass a criminal background check
Preferred Requirements
  • Inventory management and rotations experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Successfully pass in‑house training, IATA, or DOT‑approved Hazardous Materials Training
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to receive and understand instructions and directives, and to interact with customers
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of inventory management computer systems/barcoding systems
  • Excellent verbal communication skills (telephone)
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Experience operating forklifts, trucks, tractors, tugs, and electric carts
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Travel may be required to deliver parts to other stations
Job Duties
  • Receive, sign for, process, and safely handle aircraft maintenance‑related parts, material, equipment, and tooling, including entering data into the inventory management system and processing associated documentation
  • Transport parts and materials between locations, sort and count items, and prepare labels and ticketing documents
  • Appropriately issue materials and process returns
  • Read and interpret documents or instructions to build kits for use in aircraft heavy maintenance, including assembly of parts, physical inventory counts, shelf‑life rotations, reorganization of inventory or warehouse layout, and re‑labeling bins as required
  • Enter out‑station inventory transactions into the inventory management system
  • Package items for shipment and coordinate with shipping vendors for pick‑up
  • Keep stores clean and well organized
  • Perform data entry into the computer inventory system, including locating, issuing, receiving, and shipping of materials
  • Perform inventory audits, inspections, and reconciliations of materials as directed by leadership
  • Monitor and update stock items, minimum and maximum stock levels, and coordinate stock level adjustments with Maintenance, Purchasing, and other departments within Allegiant
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and use hands and fingers to operate tools such as drills, ladders, welding equipment, chemicals, etc. May lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. May work various shifts in a 24‑hour situation. Requires regular attendance. Exposure to extreme noise, temperature, wind, and light fluctuations. Ability to work in confined areas and sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.

Requires personal protective gear. Some travel may be required.
