Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center (FLBHC) is a 182‑bed acute care psychiatric hospital located in Oakland Park, Fort Lauderdale, FL. The center offers individual units for children, adolescents, adults and seniors and delivers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. Annually, over 10,000 patients receive comprehensive behavioral health treatment and academic services from our compassionate care team.

The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible and accountable for all patient care delivered in the facility, including all departments, areas and services. The DON has 24‑hour accountability.

Education/Training:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field, preferred
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent

Experience:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Psychiatric and/or Chemical Dependency care
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a nursing supervisor

Licensure/Certification:

• Current Florida State Registered Nurse License
• Current Florida Driver’s License
• Current CPR Certification; ACLS certification preferred
