Overview

Wurzak Hotel Group is looking for an experienced and professional Restaurant Server to join our vibrant team in the Dalmar Lobby Bar and Restaurant located within the Dalmar Hotel in downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL. You will perform a range of tasks including preparing table setup, reset, breakdown, table maintenance, guest support, cleaning & organization. As a Server, you will create memorable guest experiences by having extensive knowledge of our food and beverage offerings for our guests.

As a Server, your ultimate goal will be to provide our guests with outstanding customer service and actively help to improve their overall dining experience. The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional, and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Assist service team with property set up and breakdown.
  • Assist service with table maintenance by setting, maintaining, clearing throughout service to abide by property standards and requirements.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of space throughout service.
  • Provide greeting/delivery/guest follow up in a timely manner and in accordance with hotel service expectations.
  • Have extensive knowledge of what we serve and sell for both food and beverage offerings including pricing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional service.
  • Uphold our food health safety and sanitation principles.
  • Provided consistent follow-up with customers to handle any impromptu requests or issues.
  • Remove dirty dishes from the table.
  • Inform management of customer feedback and escalate guest service issues to management if you are unable to resolve.
  • Ensure guests are completely satisfied during the experience with us.
  • When serving alcoholic beverages, observe guest’s behavior, count number of drinks served, and follow proper procedure if guest is impaired to alert management or security for proper follow up.
  • Other duties as assigned.
General Requirements
  • Knowledge in restaurant and kitchen operations
  • Minimum of 2 years fine dining server experience with general liquor and wine knowledge for selling
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices required
  • High-volume hospitality experience required
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent qualification
  • Outstanding communication and people skills.
  • Possess basic math skills with knowledge of how to handle cash.
  • Ability to stay professional in a stressful work environment.
  • Positive interpersonal skills required.
  • Superb multitasking skills.
  • Ability and flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two or more years of related experience as a Banquet Server in an upscale restaurant, or full-service hotel.
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices required
  • High-volume hospitality experience required
  • Excellent oral communication skills required
  • Positive interpersonal skills required
  • Ability and flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
