Full Time Sales Fort Lauderdale, FL, USJob Purpose:
The Sales Representative - Traffic Control & Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) is responsible for driving new business growth and revenue across assigned Florida markets, including Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, and surrounding areas. This outside sales role develops customer relationships, identifies opportunities, presents solutions, prepares proposals, and secures new accounts and projects for contractors, developers, utilities, municipalities, engineering firms, event organizers, and other organizations requiring traffic control, roadway safety, work-zones, or special event services.
Success in this role requires proactive prospecting, relationship building, customer meetings, networking, negotiation, and effective management of the sales process from lead generation through project award.
Job DutiesNew Business Development & Sales
- Develop and execute a consistent sales strategy to identify and pursue new business opportunities, acquire customers, and grow revenue across assigned Florida markets.
- Research upcoming construction, roadway, utility, infrastructure, and special event projects; identify key decision-makers; and prospect through cold calls, emails, referrals, networking, jobsite visits, industry events, social media, and other business-development activities.
- Conduct customer and jobsite visits, sales meetings, presentations, and follow-ups to promote the company's traffic control, MOT, barricade rental, traffic control plan, work-zone, roadway safety, and special event services.
- Generate qualified leads and advance prospects through the sales pipeline by preparing, presenting, negotiating, and following up on proposals, quotes, bids, pricing, and service solutions in partnership with estimating and operations teams and within company guidelines.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer spending through additional services, recurring work, and long-term agreements while meeting or exceeding sales, new-account, revenue, and business-development targets.
- Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate traffic control and safety solutions, including guidance on traffic control strategies, work-zone requirements, FDOT regulations, permitting considerations, and industry best practices, as appropriate.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer concerns and deliver solutions that support satisfaction and retention.
- Develop and recommend marketing and business-development strategies to increase brand awareness and sales, including strategic partnerships, referrals, and cross-territory opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline in the company CRM or sales tracking system; document prospecting activities, customer interactions, opportunities, proposals, forecasts, and results; and provide management with regular updates on pipeline activity, new prospects, anticipated projects, closed business, and market opportunities.
- Track sales performance against established goals and adjust strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with estimating, operations, and other internal departments to ensure customer requirements are understood and projects are successfully transitioned from sales to operations.
- Represent the company professionally and consistently promote a positive image in the marketplace.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- 2+ years of experience in outside sales, business development, B2B sales, account management, or a related customer-facing sales role, with demonstrated ability to manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through presentation, negotiation, closing, and follow-up.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly self-motivated, competitive, proactive, and results driven.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with estimating, operations, and management teams.
- Strong organizational, time-management, follow-up, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and sales opportunities at different stages of the sales cycle.
- Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and sales tracking tools.
