As a Security Officer Full Time X Ray Screener in Fort Lauderdale, FL
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government airport development location, you will support a professional environment by screening personnel and visitors, operating X-ray equipment, verifying access credentials, and responding to security-related concerns. You will maintain a visible presence, help to deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and airport personnel while carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen individuals, accessible property, and designated entry points in accordance with applicable procedures, reporting prohibited items, suspicious activity, and irregular conditions to the appropriate personnel.
• Verify access credentials and monitor restricted areas to help deter unauthorized access to airport facilities and operational areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned airport areas and perimeter locations, documenting observations and maintaining awareness of changing conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Guard card is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
