Primary PurposeUnder direct supervision, performs audio visual (AV) installations, repairs, and AV support across NSU, including administrative and academic facilities, as well as off‑site locations.

- Installs audio visual solutions at NSU facilities to ensure technology resources are fully operational.
- Collects data pertaining to AV installations and repairs, including inventory of AV components, associated Fixed Assets tags and serial numbers, for reporting purposes.
- Tests and troubleshoots AV systems including, but not limited to AV control systems, displays (Projectors/Monitors/TVs), sound systems and cameras.
- Resolves and/or escalates AV tickets to document ticket status and resolution.
- Performs cable-pull, cable-termination, racking of AV components, cabling removal, and removal of AV components.
- Relocates equipment between campuses, buildings, and off‑site locations.
- Reads AV line drawings to understand AV installation locations and signal flow for installation and repair.
- Performs tagging for asset management of new capital equipment.
- Confirms receipt of equipment for installations and repairs and enters data into procurement software system.
- Operates power tools, specialized tools, ladders, scissor lifts, and other specialized equipment to perform installations and repairs.
- Drives NSU Vehicles and/or rental vehicles to travel to NSU facilities.
- Reports defective equipment received for installations and repairs for vendor and/or manufacturer replacement.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
- Basic knowledge in the safe use of various tools utilized for audio visual installations, repair and support including power and hand-tools.
- Basic knowledge of audio visual systems, signal-flow, and associated components.
- Basic knowledge of audio visual equipment and deployment of AV technology and associated components.
- Problem Solving – Proficient skills in identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with audio-visual, computer and associated network components.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly and resourcefully to provide technical support for new AV solutions and technologies.
- to lift, pull and push objects weighing up to 50 pounds and to climb ladders.

- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.

- Travel - Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.
- Required to lift, pull and push objects weighing up to 50 pounds and to climb ladders.
- May be required to work nights or weekends.
Valid Florida Driver’s License
Required EducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent
Required Experience1. High School Diploma and one (1) year direct work related experience supporting and/or installing audio visual equipment.
--OR-- Associate's degree or 60 credit hours, preferably in a technology related field.
One (1) year experience performing audio visual installation within an educational environment.
