Job SummaryWe are looking for a Field Service Engineer – 4 Stroke (USA) to join our team on the Marine Agreements team in the Marine Field Services Region Americas. The role reports to the Field Service Resource Coordinator and involves leading and developing the Field Service Team while executing service activities such as troubleshooting, inspections, overhauls, and repairs on 4‑stroke marine diesel engines.
Responsibilities- Perform overhauls and repairs on 4‑stroke engines.
- Conduct advanced mechanical and electronic & automation troubleshooting on 4‑stroke engines and ancillary equipment.
- Interact professionally with customers during work execution.
- Commission service products and perform PBL‑designed overhauls and maintenance activities with Customer Riding Teams and/or 3rd‑party mechanics.
- Track and report progress status of assigned work internally and externally.
- Assist in creating Service Work Reports.
- Ensure work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
- Continuously seek solutions according to best practices.

- Relevant technical education or qualifications combined with experience.
- Technical experience in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul; practical problem‑solving skills.
- Proven experience installing, operating and maintaining turbochargers, pumps, heat exchangers, fuel, lubrication and cooling systems.
- Experience on medium‑speed 4‑stroke engines.
- Experience with electrical systems is beneficial.

70% travel commitment, both domestic and international, including onshore and offshore locations.
Compensation & BenefitsHourly rate $45.00‑$53.00 for CA/CO/WA; $44.00‑$52.00 for NY. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, bonuses, and discretionary incentive plan. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, flexible spending accounts, PTO, and 12 company‑paid holidays.
