Actalent is hiring a Lab Software Test Engineer for a Contract position based out of Sunrise, FL.

As a member of the OTA SW (Software) Updates Automation Test Team, Lab Software Test Engineers focus on ensuring the optimal functionality of the automation lab that supports automated testing of the latest automotive, infotainment, and connectivity ECUs (embedded control units). Engineers are expected to possess excellent Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) skills to contribute to the development of pipelines and tools for monitoring and maintaining the lab, among other responsibilities.

• Provision new test stations and ensure their availability for project use.
• Ensure the health of existing test stations, including devices under test (DUTs), PCs, and networks, to guarantee uninterrupted test execution.
• Troubleshoot issues related to CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain and enhance the team's hardware and software solutions, including scripts, hardware solutions, build systems, and related tools.
• Participate in team deliverables through involvement in agile scrum development sprints.

• Proficiency in bash/shell scripting.
• Experience with manual software testing and test management tools.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency in networking protocols and troubleshooting/networking skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong troubleshooting and maintenance skills on Windows 11-based PCs, Linux-based embedded networking devices, and Linux-based/Ubuntu PCs.
• Good understanding of wired and wireless network troubleshooting, including familiarity with networking components and protocols/standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins.
• Experience with defect tracking systems like JIRA and source code versioning control systems such as Git Hub.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-site team environment with self‑driven and self‑motivated capabilities.
• Experience with Python, Groovy, or Java software development, or any Object‑Oriented programming language.
• Experience with automated testing environments and frameworks, including PyTest, unit testing, and Slash.

This is a Contract position based out of Sunrise, FL.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $41.00/hr.
