BOND is a rapidly growing private aviation company revolutionizing fractional aircraft ownership and private aircraft management, delivering an elevated and seamless flying experience for discerning clients. Supported by a landmark Bombardier fleet order, we are building a modern fleet of late-model super-midsize and ultra-long-range aircraft and assembling a team committed to operational excellence, safety, and white-glove service.
As we scale toward launch and long-term growth, we are seeking professionals who want to help build a next-generation aviation company and play a meaningful role in shaping how it operates from the ground up.
Role Overview
BOND is building the future of private aviation.. We operate a fleet of private aircraft and offer fractional ownership programs and memberships. As our fleet grows, we're bringing core flight-management capabilities onto our own platform: crew scheduling, travel automation, crew-facing apps and AI-driven tools.
The role
You'll be a hands-on senior engineer and technical lead, working side by side with the operations teams who use what you build. You'll own operational systems end to end, from data model and rules to the screens schedulers, dispatchers and crew rely on every day. You'll also lead a group of offshore developers shipping on the same products. This is mission-critical software where correctness matters.
What you'll do
- Own features end to end across customer-facing experience, crew scheduling, crew travel, operations tooling and back-office systems.
- Turn real workflows from flight operations, scheduling, maintenance and account management into production-ready software.
- Build fast, data-dense web apps and real-time boards; contribute to our React Native/Expo crew apps.
- Implement rules-heavy logic (rotations, pairings, duty and rest, currency, disruption recovery) that is testable and auditable.
- Build integrations with our flight management system and partners such as Fore Flight, weather/NOTAM sources and Salesforce.
- Partner with Applied Science to product ionize scheduling and optimization models.
- Lead the offshore team day to day: plan and assign work, own code review, set standards and manage time-zone handoffs.
- Lead technical design for your area and make architecture calls with the VP of Engineering.
- Mentor engineers and help hire.
- Own production health with Datadog and help run the on-call rotation and incident reviews.
- Use AI coding tools daily, drive safe AI practices across the team, and build AI-powered operational features.
What you bring
- 7+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years with Type Script and Node.js or Python in production.
- 2+ years as a technical lead, accountable for code review and team delivery.
- Experience leading distributed or offshore teams across time zones.
- A track record building internal operational systems (scheduling, logistics, dispatch or similar).
- Strong React for data-dense apps;
React Native experience or the ability to ramp up fast. - Strong PostgreSQL, GraphQL and REST API design, and an ORM such as Prisma.
- Hands-on AWS (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, Aurora, SQS/SNS, Event Bridge) and third-party integrations (OAuth, webhooks, idempotent sync).
- Daily, practical use of AI-assisted development tools.
- BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Aviation operations software or another regulated, time-critical industry; familiarity with crew duty, currency or FAA rules.
- Scheduling/optimization work and product ionizing data-science models.
- LLM integration (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI), agentic workflows or MCP servers.
- Event-driven and real-time systems;
Terraform, Databricks or Snowflake.
