Position SummaryThe Administrator is responsible for managing the Company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs. Duties include monitoring federal, state, and local environmental, water quality, and resource protection regulations; reviewing permits and compliance; and providing technical guidance to Operations, Engineering, and Construction teams.
Essential Duties- Oversee and maintain documentation for accurate record‑keeping and regulatory reporting.
- Administer the Company’s environmental programs—bacteriological sampling, lead and copper sampling, pretreatment, grease control, inflow and infiltration, water conservation, and cross‑connection control.
- Assist the Environmental Health and Safety Manager with policy development and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Initiate, coordinate, and participate in environmental audits and prepare environmental assessments of Company property.
- Oversee all environmental and health department permits—including Public Water Supply, Division of Water Quality, Erosion Control, and Landfill permits.
- Interpret and recommend actions to comply with federal, state, and local environmental and safety laws.
- Assist with administering the Company’s safety programs, including Illness and Injury Prevention, Safety Audits, OSHA requirements, MSDA documentation, and training programs.
- Review permit applications and drawings for compliance with federal, state, and installation environmental regulations.
- Maintain the Company’s environmental and safety databases—Water Quality & Resource Protection, Cross‑Connection Control, Public Water Supply, and Employee Training.
- Conduct periodic field inspections and plant inspections; complete safety inspection reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Serve as the Company’s representative on internal and external environmental and safety committees.
- Prepare and distribute annual Wastewater Performance Reports and Consumer Confidence Reports; coordinate public education notices relating to water system and sanitary sewer collection.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree desirable).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and exercise initiative.
- Valid Driver’s License issued by the state of employment.
- Compliance with Federal OSHA and/or State Mandated Safety training with annual refresher courses required.
- Willingness to travel as required by project needs.
- U.S. Citizenship required per federal contract; background check and reasonable accommodations for special needs will be provided.
