Maintenance Mechanic

Overview

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position supports the Plant in all areas of maintenance, including performing repairs, upgrades and installation of new equipment; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Perform daily PMs and repairs on all manufacturing equipment.
• Support installation of all new equipment as required.
• Identify and determine parts needed for repairs; communicate daily maintenance needs and priorities with operators and management.
• Completely and accurately fill out required reports for problems/repairs and paperwork for parts ordering.
• Keep work area clean and organized; apply 5S principles.
• Troubleshoot issues with plant machinery; repair molds and use appropriate mold setup procedures.
• Replace or repair bearings and related parts; perform minor low-voltage wiring repairs and comply with ARC Flash requirements.
• Create fabrications from drawings/schematics; perform welding in various positions and weld various types of joints.
• Replace equipment parts with proper instructions and tools; understand equipment operations to start or jog equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Work with operators and supervisors to problem-solve machinery failures/performance issues.
• Perform all maintenance on equipment and tools within safety requirements and company procedures.
• Learn to operate Block machine, Cuber, loader, unloader, BECO machine and other required equipment.
• Attend safety meetings and adhere to safety rules; report and correct hazardous conditions.
• Predictable and regular attendance is required; overtime and weekend work may be needed.

• Experience:
  
  0–2 years in welding and machinery maintenance required; on-the-job training required.
• Welding ability with stick or MIG welders; able to use oxy/acetylene torch.
• Strong reading, writing and mathematical skills; fabrication skills.
• Some PLC and VFD knowledge preferred; proven problem-solving abilities.
• Good mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
• Familiar with chain and belt conveyor components.
• Forklift and some heavy equipment knowledge; forklift certification may be required.
• Having portable tools is recommended but not required.
• Valid driver's license; up to 5% travel time required to pick up parts or equipment.
• Predictable and regular attendance; overtime and weekends as needed.

• Frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen; stand, walk, and sit.
• Frequently drive a personal vehicle to pick up/drop off parts or equipment.
• Occasionally bend at the waist; lift/move up to 100 pounds.
• Up to 5% travel time required.

• Plant environment with loud noise, moving machinery; dusty and dirty conditions.
• Outdoor weather conditions; extreme temperatures.
• Wear mandatory and/or other appropriate PPE.

• $24.00 - $40.00 DOE (Depends on Experience)
