Job SummarySoutheastern Community College Continuing Education seeks part‑time learning facilitators to teach General Interest classes—non‑credit, life‑long learning courses—across multiple campuses. Workshops run weekdays and weekends during daytime and evening hours, sometimes spanning several weeks. Current instructional focus areas include gaming, woodworking, culinary arts, home brewing, crafting, history, and holiday‑themed projects.
Responsibilities- Commit to the college’s mission, vision, values, and goals.
- Attend all scheduled classes consistently.
- Deliver instruction in your area of expertise, ensuring students meet course objectives.
- Provide exemplary customer service: positive class interaction, meeting participant needs, maintaining a clean and inviting learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with participants and Continuing Education staff.
- Prepare the classroom before and after each session.
- Complete required paperwork and attendance records.
- Travel between locations and work evenings and weekends as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Pass a background check and random drug screening.
- Professional attitude, commitment to exceeding expectations, and superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for life‑long learning.
- Compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
- Patience and cultural diversity awareness.
- Willingly work with students in group and independent settings.
- Handle responsibilities and problems with independent judgment.
- Complete required paperwork, attendance, progress reports, and documentation.
- Teaching experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field;
Associate’s degree acceptable with relevant experience. - Experience in curriculum development.
Ability to carry and distribute class materials; rearrange the classroom as needed.
