Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller of Infinity Métis Corp. 'IMC', the Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the annual budget production and revenue forecasting for the company. This role involves tracking and reviewing monthly forecasts, monitoring departmental budget execution, and ensuring compliance with financial operations. The Senior Accountant will engage with Joint Venture and Industry Partners, participating in stewardship meetings and maintaining continuous interactions.

The incumbent will conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of IMC, as well as adherence to all established Policies and Procedures.

This permanent full-time salaried position is based on forty (40) hours weekly. Additional hours may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Assist with forecasting revenues from all revenue streams.
  • Responsible to track and review monthly forecasts.
  • Responsible to oversee budget development and monitor departmental budget execution monthly.
  • Review, approve and manage expenses and purchase orders in accordance with organizational policies and budgetary controls.
  • Review and approve vendor and payroll payments.
  • Review bank reconciliations for errors or omissions.
  • Attends stewardship meetings with Joint Venture Partners with designated IMC representatives.
  • Support the Financial Controller in the continuous interactions with Joint Venture Partners and Industry Partners.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in conducting analyses of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) for comparative evaluation.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Responsible for managing billing processes and ensuring accurate invoicing.
  • Participates in planning the objectives, methods and resources of short- and long-range financial operations of the company with the Financial Controller.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Prepare variances analysis for the financial operations of the company or assigned area to ensure compliance with budgets.
  • Responsible to provide for a system of management cost reports, including budget, budget variances, financial statements and projections.
  • Recommends benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations assisting the Financial Controller in controllership.
  • Calculates and issue financial and operating metric reports, including Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Maintains an orderly accounting filing system.
  • Calculates variances from the budget and reports significant issues to management.
  • Adheres to local and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including GST remittance in conjunction with the Financial Controller.
  • Act as superuser to all financially systems.
  • Maintains a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Provide coverage to Accounts Receivable Payroll Administrator, and Accounts Payment Administrator as required; and,
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Business/Accounting from an accredited training institution is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a finance or accounting role is required.
  • A combination of relevant post-secondary education and experience may be considered.
  • Recognized Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required. CPA designation in progress will be considered.
