Position: Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator Role
Become an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with McKay Metis Contracting, focusing on oil sands operations within a structured 14 days on, 14 days off schedule. This position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and physical ability.

Reporting to the Superintendent, you’ll operate heavy machinery and ensure accurate completion of road maintenance and construction activities. The role requires in-depth knowledge, especially with graders, and the ability to read grade stakes. Physical endurance for manual labour and a commitment to safe practices are critical.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate graders, loaders, and skid-steers safely

• Construct and maintain road grades effectively

• Interpret grade stakes for precise construction work

• Perform physical tasks associated with machinery operation

• Report and assist with all identified tasks from supervisors

Requirements:

• Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License, with a clean record

• Certification in Skid-steer operation and First Aid Level C

• Previous experience in mobile and small equipment operation

• Ability to lift heavy loads and work outdoors in all conditions

• Flexibility to adapt to the job demands
