Mining, Surveyor

North American Construction Group is seeking Surveyors to join their remote mining site team at Suncor in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the largest and safest contracts in the region, with a strong focus on safety and career growth. Ideal candidates will have significant surveying experience, particularly in mining or heavy construction environments, and be ready to work a 14/7 rotation with overtime opportunities.

• Up to $53.83/hour combined rate of pay
• $75/day Living Out Allowance (LOA)
• Overtime after 8 hours/day or 44 hours/week
• Earn up to 61 hours of overtime per 14-day rotation

• Transportation (bussing) provided from Fort McMurray to site

• 3 years of experience in a survey party chief role
• Proficiency with RTK GNSS, Total station, and 3D scanners
• Experience with construction staking (roads, corridors, piping, slopes, etc.) and as-built/topographic surveys
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and acceptable Driver’s Abstract
• Valid CSO Certification
• Silica Awareness, Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness, OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness, Field Ergonomics
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing:
  Breath Alcohol Test, Urine Drug Test, Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment, Audiometric Testing, Vision Screening, Criminal Record Check
• Willingness to be subject to random testing at Suncor and other sites

• Experience with Trimble survey equipment
• Experience with volume calculation and design calculations in AutoCAD
• Transport Canada RPAS Advanced (Drone) license and 25+ hours flying multi-rotor drones
