Overview
The Fort McMurray Catholic Board of Education serves approximately 7,000 students in 13 schools. All schools offer a wide range of programming geared toward meeting the academic, cultural and spiritual needs of our community.
All schools are part of the Alberta Public Education System and offer a faith-based learning environment to students of any background and a level of instruction geared toward the highest academic standards.
Positions AvailableThe Fort McMurray Roman Catholic Separate School Division is seeking teachers for kindergarten to grade 12, including specialists in math, sciences and humanities, for potential positions for the remainder of the school year.
Duties- Identify students’ individual and collective learning needs
- Plan and deliver instruction based on student learning needs and special needs
- Provide a stimulating learning environment in which each student can experience growth and develop to his or her potential
- Help students learn appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes
- Meet with parents
- Evaluate and communicate student progress
- Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help
- Meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress
- Volunteer to supervise extracurricular and after-school activities
- Attend meetings, seminars, and in-service training sessions

- Must be eligible for Alberta Teacher Certification and hold a Bachelor of Education Degree

The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check. FMCSD will contact past and present employers for references. All FMCSD employees are expected to be computer literate; this includes fluency with e-mail, Internet and MS Office.
