EMT- Grade 7 - Culinary Arts

École McTavish High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our instructional team in the role of Grade 7-12 Culinary Arts Teacher.

Requirements: The ideal candidate would possess the following background, philosophy, and experience:

• Bachelor's Degree as well as Bachelor of Education.
• All candidates must hold or be able to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and teaching experience at those levels/subject areas.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and classroom management skills.
• Computer literate; fluency with e‑mail, internet, MS Office, Google Mail, Docs, and Sheets.
• Criminal record/vulnerable sector check required.

• Previous knowledge and experience in Foods Studies and culinary programming, including food safety and kitchen management.
• Ability to work in a team environment and knowledge of differentiated instruction techniques.
• Effective organization skills and strong classroom management.
• Ability to utilize technology as an instructional tool.
• Ability to design and implement Individual Program Plans for special needs students.
• Willingness to participate in the school community beyond the classroom.
• Interest in supporting a wide variety of CTS and elective opportunities.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth, and a strong ability to connect and build relationships with junior and senior high school students.
