Requirements Bachelor of Education.

Teacher:
Grade 1

• Proven successful teaching experience in an elementary school setting.
• Have a strong knowledge of Alberta Elementary curriculum.
• Have an ability to design and implement Individual Program Plans.
• Have demonstrated ability creating a classroom characterized by inclusion, equity and differentiated instruction.
• Has demonstrated an ability to support and meet the needs of FNMI and ELL students in the classroom.
• Previous experience in establishing strong positive connection with students outside the classroom (ie. clubs and teams).
• Possess superior organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Exhibit a strong work ethic.
• Be flexible and willing to adapt.
• Be open to new programs and initiatives.
• Be a reflective practitioner.
• Be willing to participate in the school community beyond the classroom.
• Recognize the importance of promoting the school with parents and in the community.
• Proven ability to build positive and collaborative relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining regular positive communications with parents.
• Have skill in involving parents as partners (parental involvement).
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth.

All candidates must hold or be able to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate, have knowledge of curriculum and teaching experience at these levels or subject areas and demonstrated interpersonal and classroom management skills.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a criminal record/vulnerable sector check, which will be reviewed to ensure suitability for the position.
