Position: Special Education Teacher for FMCSD
Enhance the learning of students with complex needs at Fort McMurray Catholic School Division as a Specialized Independent Living Program Teacher for the academic year. This role requires robust knowledge of Special Education to support diverse learning goals.
As a pivotal team member, you'll focus on fostering literacy, numeracy, and essential life skills among children who require specialized interventions. Your ability to differentiate instruction and facilitate community skills will significantly influence students' academic and functional development. Collaboration with other professionals will be key to implementing therapeutic supports within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the development of literacy and numeracy skills

• Adapt teaching strategies for individual needs

• Lead community engagement and life skills initiatives

• Encourage social skills practice through peer interaction

• Work alongside specialists for optimal student programming
Requirements:

• Must hold Alberta Teacher Certification eligibility

• Bachelor of Education Degree is required

• Proven experience with children having complex needs

• Training in Specialized Inclusive Education is a plus

• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
