Instructor, Human Services (Social Work) - Fall 2026 The Opportunity

Keyano College’s School of Health and Human Services is currently seeking a Contract Instructor for the Social Work Diploma program for the Fall 2026 semester (August 26 – December 16, 2026). The program is designed to prepare graduates to practice with individuals, families, groups, communities, and organizations in rural and urban settings.

Note:

this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

• Instruct courses across the Social Work Diploma program curriculum.
• Maintain office hours and student mentorship/engagement.
• Perform field supervision and practicum support.
• Engage with community stakeholders.
• Maintain professional competence and knowledge of subject matter.

• Minimum Master in Social Work (MSW) is required.
• Must be registered (or be eligible for registration), and a member in good standing, with the ACSW (Alberta College of Social Workers) and hold an active RSW in Alberta.
• Two or more years of post MSW experience in the Social Work field.
• Minimum of five years of experience working as a registered social worker.

• Demonstrated teaching excellence and a passion for student success.
• Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in the learning environment.
• Preference will be given to candidates possessing teaching experience at a post‑secondary level, though we encourage candidates with related professional and or educational requirements to apply.
