This provides strong exposure across all phases of execution—from planning and scheduling through shutdown execution and startup readiness. You’ll work within fast-paced, high-pressure turnaround environments where precision, coordination, and strong communication are critical to success. This role is based in Fort McMurray and supports a major turnaround project with rotational work schedules. - Support field execution during turnaround activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary crews including civil, concrete, earthworks, and structural/ironwork scopes.
- Coordinate rigging activities and ensure all lifts are planned and executed in accordance with safety requirements.
- Assist with daily planning activities including crew coordination, workface planning, and interface with other trades.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Planners, and site leadership to ensure alignment on schedule, priorities, and constraints.
- Track progress in the field and flag issues impacting productivity or schedule.
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and participate actively in safety initiatives.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and field observations.
- Support quality control processes, ensuring all work meets specifications, drawings, and client expectations.
- Coordinate equipment, material, and manpower requirements to meet critical turnaround timelines.
- Identify and help resolve field issues, minimizing impacts to schedule and cost.
- Support turnaround planning activities including scope reviews and constructability input.
- Maintain clear communication with field teams and stakeholders across both day and night shifts.
- Assist with reporting, progress tracking, and documentation as required.
- Years of industrial construction experience within oil & gas or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong background in turnaround/shutdown execution.
- Demonstrated experience with civil construction including concrete and earthworks (dirt work).
- Ironworker or structural steel experience with exposure to rigging activities.
- Solid understanding of rigging practices including lift planning fundamentals.
- Experience coordinating crews in fast-paced industrial or turnaround environments.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and work packages.
- Effective communication and coordination skills with the ability to work across multiple teams.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Commitment to safety excellence and supporting HSE programs in the field.
- Site-based position in Fort McMurray, AB.
- Rotational schedule supporting a major turnaround project.
- Day shift and night shift work required.
- Camp accommodations and travel provided (where applicable).
- Physically demanding environment with exposure to industrial site conditions.
