Support critical geotechnical projects with Neegan Technical Services as a Geotechnical Instrumentation Monitoring Technician near Fort McMurray, Alberta. Engage in field monitoring of mining and tailings structures regardless of weather.
The role emphasizes data accuracy and teamwork with client representatives. You'll work outdoors, collecting vital readings while driving off-road vehicles to remote locations. A strong commitment to safety and compliance with operational protocols is essential in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor tailings facilities for pressure and displacement changes
• Enter collected data accurately into systems
• Review and report data fluctuations exceeding thresholds
• Operate ARGO and off-road vehicles for data access
• Prepare reports and summaries for team members
Requirements:
• Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline preferred
• Clean Class 5 Driver’s License necessary
• Willingness to work in adverse conditions
• Strong communication and independent working skills
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs
