Health & Safety Manager

Our client is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead, implement, and continuously improve health and safety programs while championing a strong safety culture across all operations. This role is responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance, developing safety policies and procedures, supporting operational teams, and ensuring safety excellence throughout projects and field activities. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with extensive Health & Safety experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and a hands‑on, field‑focused approach.

This position will be based out of the Fort McMurray area and requires a local candidate.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Develop and implement Health & Safety policies, procedures, and programs aligned with organizational goals
  • Partner with leadership and project teams to ensure regulatory compliance and support client safety requirements
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and implement effective compliance strategies
  • Lead incident investigations, reporting, and case management processes
  • Deliver and maintain effective safety training programs
  • Drive a proactive, behavior‑based safety culture across operations
  • Maintain a visible field presence to support and improve site safety practices
  • Your strengths include:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Health & Safety, preferably in construction or oil & gas
  • Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • NCSO designation and ACSA Auditor certification (or ability to obtain within one year)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems
  • Demonstrated commitment to field engagement and frontline safety leadership
  • Flexibility to travel and respond to emergencies as required
