Keyano College’s Division of Academic Experience is on the lookout for a full-time Digital Access & Support Specialist to join their team! Reporting to the Manager of Accessibility & Wellness Services, the Digital Access & Support Specialist will provide both adaptive technology services and digital literacy support to students and members of the Keyano College community.

This position supports Keyano’s students by providing both adaptive technology services and digital literacy support. This is an interdepartmental position will work both in Accessibility Services and the Library. 50% of the role is dedicated to guiding students with accessibility needs in selecting and using assistive technologies and completing Schedule IV Disability Grant applications. The other 50% involves working on the Digital Support Desk in the Library to support the college community by through technology and digital literacy instruction, troubleshooting, and public service support.
- Assess students’ computer literacy and match adaptive technology to their learning needs, monitoring and reassessing as needed
- Deliver and curate training modules on assistive technology software and devices
- Troubleshoot student adaptive technology issues
- Coordinate and maintain adaptive technology equipment and software
- Convert materials into alternate formats (e.g., audio, large print, Braille, trades’ ILMs)
- Guide students through assistive technology funding (Schedule IV) applications, liaising with internal services and external agencies
- Provide in-person and virtual (where possible) support to Keyano College students via the Library’s Digital Support Desk for digital literacy, college-required software and online learning tools (e.g., Moodle, Microsoft 365, MFA, databases, etc.)
- Troubleshoot common technical issues students are experiencing and coordinate with ITS as needed
- Maintain and coordinate the Library’s loanable technology collection and computer lab
- Deliver or assist with instructional sessions, workshops, and orientations on technology use (in coordination with the Library or Accessibility Services’ teams)
- Work scheduled shifts on the Library’s Information Desk, as required, to provide reference and circulation services to all library users
Required
Qualification:
- A Library Technician diploma or a two-year college diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Technology)
- Minimum of 6 months experience
- Experience working with diverse learners
- Strong digital literacy and technology skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- One year of experience in adult learning environments, with assistive or digital tech support experience is preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an academic library and/or accessibility services
- Knowledge of Keyano College resources, services, and student demographic

Compensation and Benefits- Compensation is $62,134.078 (CUPE IS5) with the following health and benefit package.
