Overview

Join the Finning family! Finning Canada is seeking a Parts Journeyperson to support our client at Fort Hills, Alberta. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service and advice, identify and source parts, inspect and process cores and parts returns, and coordinate parts logistics.

Responsibilities
  • On‑site parts coordination related to customer equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Enter accurate required‑by dates into the software system.
  • Prepare for and attend daily customer meetings, communicating estimated delivery dates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Complete pre‑task assessments.
  • Communicate shipping options and freight estimates to the Service Operations team.
  • Follow up on requests from the Service Operations team, remaining accountable until the transaction is complete.
  • Perform general housekeeping – maintaining an organized storage area.
  • Attend all Teams meetings, micro‑learnings, and training requested by the Regional Parts Manager.
  • Identify and track parts to support the business.
  • Source and order new, remanufactured and used parts.
  • Work with CAT buyers through the ticketing system.
  • Perform cycle counts, Red Data monitoring, picking, shipping and receiving of the consigned inventory on site.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Coordinate component core returns with the Mildred Lake facility.
  • Participate in parts‑related special projects and assignments.
Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Parts Certification with previous parts, warehouse, front counter or sales experience.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar products.
  • High‑performance, positive attitude and ability to build respectful working relationships.
  • Enthusiasm for work and ability to function effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Capability to handle difficult situations and potentially unhappy customers.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Computer literacy with applicable software knowledge and shop parts experience.
  • Experience with SIS, Lawson M3, and the MS Office package is an asset.
  • Industry experience in mining, heavy construction, or technology products is a strong asset.
Shift & Employment Details

The position is based in Fort Hills, AB on a 14×14 rotational shift. Hours and shift schedule may be subject to change to meet customer and Finning requirements. Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement.

Union Membership

Union membership is required for this position and will become effective immediately with corresponding union dues deducted from pay. Employment terms are governed by the collective agreement.
