Position: Maintenance Yardperson (Suncor)

Position Scope

Intermediate Maintenance Yardperson’s to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area at our Suncor site. This is an opportunity to work with one of the safest and largest contracts in the region. NACG offers a combined rate of up to $44.74/hour and room for growth.

Where You’ll Be Working

  • Schedule:

    14 x 14, 12 hour days (paid for 12 hours), days/nights.
  • Accommodations camp is not provided.
  • Transportation busing from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts).
  • Overtime provided after 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform general maintenance, cleanup, and organizational duties within work areas (e.g., roadways, clear snow, address potholes, water, etc.)
  • Assist technicians with job set‑up/tear‑down
  • Assist technicians with assembly and testing when required (under direct supervision)
  • Gather and deliver parts and components to assist job process
  • Segregate waste and ensure proper storage of all controlled products in work areas
  • Operate various equipment performing maintenance duties—loader, grader, forklift, skid‑steer, light duty vehicles
  • Load/off‑load freight components from delivery trucks with forklift
  • Install/replace Ground Engagement Tools (G.E.T.)
What Makes You The One
  • Minimum 3 months previous experience operating a grader/loader
  • Minimum 6 months previous experience in a heavy equipment maintenance or automotive repair environment
  • Forklift/skid‑steer certifications considered an asset
  • Class 3 License endorsement and prior experience with hauling/reversing trailers with a light‑duty truck an asset with air
  • Proficient in all intermediate maintenance yard person duties
What's Next

If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process for a site‑based role, you will be asked to provide the following:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and recent Driver’s Abstract
  • Valid copies of CSO, Silica Awareness, Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness, OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness & H2S Awareness (all tickets completed through Energy Safety Canada)
  • Subject to random testing at Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Undergo and successfully pass pre‑employment testing

Pre‑employment testing includes:

  • Breath Alcohol Test
  • Urine Drug Test
  • Fitness‑to‑Work Health Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening
  • Criminal Record Check

Once dispatched, the following processes will occur:

  • Receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre‑employment testing
  • Email with all required new‑hire paperwork to be filled out
  • After all results and paperwork are received by NACG, candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm start date and other site‑specific details

Please note the onboarding process can take anywhere from 3‑8 business days.
