Emergency Management Manager

Position: Emergency Management Manager Role
Assume the role of Emergency Management Manager with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in Fort McMurray. This key position is critical for overseeing disaster preparedness and response strategies.

You will report directly to the Regional Fire Chief, guiding the municipality's compliance with emergency management standards. Your responsibilities will encompass program development, financial management, and strategic planning within emergency services. Collaboration with local government and stakeholders is essential for successful execution of emergency plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct the community emergency management operations

• Prepare and administer the emergency management budget

• Mentor team members in best practices for emergency responses

• Develop relationships with external partners

• Lead activation efforts for the Emergency Coordination Centre

Requirements:

• Degree in a related field with emergency management training

• Seven years of relevant experience, including leadership roles

• Must have Emergency Management and ICS certifications

• Proven experience with project management

• Strong public speaking and writing abilities
