Program Overview
Step into your nursing career with confidence in Alberta’s Graduate Nurse Transition Pilot Program (GNTPP). The 12-month program is divided into two phases:

As a Registered Nurse you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will use nursing processes, critical thinking and decision making to teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families, supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.
Program SupportYou will be paired with experienced peers for guidance, and after completing Phase 1 you will transition to independent practice while continuing to receive support from a mentor throughout the program. Upon transition you will be expected to apply for suitable positions of 0.5 FTE or greater within a similar practice setting, ideally within the same unit, program, site or office.
