Position: Student Research Assistant (REIT Program)

Student Research Assistant (REIT Program) The Opportunity

The Research & Innovation Team at Keyano College is seeking a Student Research Assistant to support the research project Student Research Assistant for research project:
Promoting Refugee Self-Reliance in Canada: A Preparatory Study Towards Developing the Refugee Empowerment and Independence Training Program (REITP). The Student Research Assistant will provide assistance with research-related and administrative tasks to the research project’s principal investigator, Dr. Reza Ashouri-Talooki. The Student Research Assistant(s) will report to the Research Chair for Northern Community Sustainability.

Duties & Responsibilities Qualifications
  • Must be a current Keyano College student.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate with others.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • A drive to learn and engage in broad research-related tasks.
  • Previous work experience in research-related fields is an asset.
  • Previous experience with and knowledge of the first responder field is an asset.
  • Familiarity with statistical software such as SSPS is an asset.
  • TCPS2: CORE certification is an asset.
  • Familiarity with methods for research design, implementation and analysis is an asset.
Compensation and Benefits

CUPE Student Rate: IS1 $ 20.43/hour; maximum 10 hours per week
