Fort McMurray Prevention Coordinator

Position: Fort McMurray Prevention Coordinator Role
Lead community programming as a Prevention Coordinator with Child and Family Services in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This full-time parental replacement role emphasizes cultural support and family preservation.

You will report to the Prevention Supervisor and focus on programming that meets the diverse needs of First Nations communities. Candidates should possess 1-3 years of relevant experience and a strong understanding of community welfare and cultural engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design services promoting cultural participation and community well-being

• Conduct summer camps and workshops focused on cultural practices

• Partner with individuals and families to foster resilience

• Champion Cree and Dene cultural values through programming

• Provide bi-weekly reports on program success

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience in related positions

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Additional qualifications in social sciences or Indigenous studies beneficial

• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check mandatory

• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with clear record
