South Asian Community Outreach Navigator

Support and engage South Asian communities as a Cultural Communities Navigator with the Alzheimer Society. This full-time role emphasizes dementia education, outreach, and support services in Alberta.

In this position, you will act as the Cultural Communities Navigator to assist individuals living with dementia and their caregivers from South Asian backgrounds. Your responsibility includes outreach education, organizing support groups, and fostering relationships with local organizations to enhance resource access. Bilingual fluency in Punjabi and Hindi is essential for effective communication and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct outreach to raise dementia awareness

• Organize tailored workshops for the community

• Provide personalized support navigating healthcare services

• Collaborate with the team to develop educational materials

• Coordinate and lead support groups effectively

Requirements:

• Education in Social Work or related area

• Verbal and written fluency in Punjabi and Hindi

• Experience in community engagement or public speaking

• Understanding cultural perspectives of dementia

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
