This full-time role reports to the Supervisor of Kinship/Foster Care and involves building supportive, culturally grounded relationships with Indigenous children and youth. You will mentor caregivers on incorporating Indigenous traditions and coordinate access to cultural events. Close collaboration with Athabasca Chipewyan and Fort McMurray 468 First Nations ensures children feel connected to their heritage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build relationships with children and youth in care
• Mentor caregivers in cultural inclusion
• Coordinate cultural and community event access
• Support land-based activities and traditional practices
• Engage in case planning and advocate for reunification
Requirements:
• Degree in human services or related field (asset)
• Experience with Indigenous communities preferred
• Ability to manage diverse caseloads effectively
• Proficiency in Cree or Dene is an asset
• Clear Criminal Record Check required
Drive cultural connection and support for Indigenous children through this meaningful role with the Athabasca Tribal Council.
