Position: Shipper / Receiver
Birch Mountain Enterprises (BME) is hiring an experienced Shipper/Receiver to start immediately. This is a permanent, full-time position based out of the Fort McKay Incubator Park on a 7 on, 7 off schedule, 12-hour days. Job Summary:
The Shipper and Receiver will perform general physical activities to load, unload, sort, and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment. Manage verification, acceptance, counting, and inputting into our ERP system of all incoming goods and their condition.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Physical lifting requiredShip and receive all parts and materials as requiredUpdate status of inbound and outbound orders in ERP systemContact carrier representative to ship material when requiredInspect and verify incoming goods against invoices and communicate any discrepanciesMaintain inventory of incoming, stored, and outgoing goodsResponsible for general housekeeping in the warehouse and external storageDocument all movement of parts/materials using appropriate paperworkPick and bill out parts to proper service work orders in a timely mannerSafely operate forklift and pallet jackKnow and abide by safe storage and handling procedures (WHMIS)Cross-train in and provide back-up support to other areas in departmentStrong communication, analytical skills and high attention to detailContribute to the entire warehouse team successBe available for year end inventory. December 27th to December 31stOther duties as assigned and assist maintenance team as requiredQualifications,
Skills and Abilities:
Minimum 3 years of similar industry warehouse shipping/receiving experienceKnowledge of major couriers – Fed Ex, Purolator, UPS, etc. including how to operate their respective software packagesMust be computer proficient using MS office, online shipping websites and ERP softwareHigh attention to detail essential with ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high pace environmentA valid forklift license and the ability to operate a forklift in a safe mannerPhysically capable of performing the essential duties of the job and lifting up-to 50lbHigh attention to company’s health & safety policyAbility to multitask and assist maintenance team when requiredAble to speak and write clear, fluent English.Must be able to pass pre-employment test which includes Drug and alcohol test and Physical demands test.We thank you for your interest in Birch Mountain and remind all candidates that only successful applicants will be contacted.
