Heavy Equipment Operator; Haul Truck; Articulating; Rigid; Kearl

NACG is seeking Haul Truck Operators to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This is an opportunity to work on a large, safe contract.

• Site Kearl
• Schedule 14 x 14, 12‑hour days (paid lunch), 14 days on, 14 off; 14 nights on, 14 off.
• Camp accommodation provided.
• Travel provided by flights to/from Edmonton or Calgary; bus rides from Fort McMurray to the site before and after rotation.
• Overtime currently blended rates with no overtime pay.

• Combined rate of pay up to $53.66 per hour.
• Vacation and statutory holiday pay added each paycheck.
• Night shift premium $1.20 per hour.
• Paid weekly.
• Union membership with a large IUOE local.
• Benefits and pension after 400 hours, including medical and dental.
• Transportation to/from site to save on gas.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided; bring CSA‑certified steel‑toed boots.

• Operate rigid frame haul trucks ranging from 100‑ton to 400‑ton and 60‑ton articulating ultra‑class trucks in mining or heavy construction earthworks.
• Complete pre‑use equipment inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Perform field‑level risk/hazard assessments before and during tasks.
• Participate in safe fueling and servicing of equipment.
• Interact with loading and dumping equipment.
• Follow mine driving rules and interact with other contractor and client equipment.
• Ensure compliance with company, client, and legislative safety policies, operating standards, and procedures.
• Use required PPE.
• Review safe work plans and hazard assessments before job commencement and follow all requirements.
• Report necessary repairs to maintenance or supervisors.
• Report all incidents, near‑misses or damage immediately.

• Minimum 1 year experience operating rigid frame haul trucks (100‑ton to 400‑ton and 60‑ton ultra‑class); experience with mechanical (Caterpillar) or electric (Komatsu) trucks.
• Minimum one year experience in mining or heavy construction earthworks preferred.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a recent (within 30 days) acceptable driver’s abstract.
• Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
• CSO Certification.
• Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness or Energy Safety Canada Wildlife Awareness (including Bear Awareness).
• Clean and facial hair does not interfere with respirator fit (required at select sites).
• High school diploma, GED, and/or post‑secondary education considered an asset.

• Provide valid Class 5 Driver’s License and recent driver’s abstract.
• Valid CSO and Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness or Wildlife Awareness (including Bear Awareness) certificates.
• Subject to random testing at Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills, and Kearl sites.
• Pass pre‑employment testing: breath alcohol, urine drug test, fitness‑to‑work health assessment, audiometric testing, vision screening, criminal record check.
• Receive notice for pre‑employment testing; complete new hire paperwork; coordinate orientation and start date.
