Cybersecurity Systems Engineer FSP

Overview

Cybersecurity Systems Engineer – a highly specialized role supporting an Information Assurance Program in Fort Meade, MD. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph and 14+ years of System Engineering experience, with strong proficiency in Information Assurance/Cryptography and hands‑on experience in the DoD Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process.

• Provide technical support for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of components of complex hardware/software systems, including requirements elicitation, analysis, functional allocation, and conducting systems requirements reviews.
• Support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process and other Government C&A processes.
• Perform high assurance cybersecurity evaluation activities, reviewing security evaluation documents and artifacts for devices undergoing certification and assessment to ensure they meet security requirements.
• Attend and participate in security‑related meetings and reviews, translating vulnerability knowledge into guidance to prevent or manage risk.
• Document security deficiencies found in artifact evaluations, recommending requirement clarifications and process/template improvements to mitigate concerns.

• Fourteen (14) years of System Engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited institution (or five (5) additional years of System Engineering experience can substitute).
• Information Assurance/Cryptographic experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and lead small teams.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required.

• Experience in Space/Weapon/Ground/Terminal system development and evaluation.
• Hands‑on experience with the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process (and other Government C&A processes).
• Experience in Space System Engineering.

• Compensation: $126,000 – $227,000 per year.
